Pattern Inspiration - Chevron/Zigzag

Hi! Yes. I'm still here. No. I didn't get lost in a snowbank somewhere. :-) We actually didn't get as much snow as originally thought (maybe 8 or 9"?) so that's not bad compared to some of you who have gotten 2 feet or more! Anyhoo... On to chevron or zigzag, whichever you prefer to call it.

I think this pattern may be similar to the zebra print in that you either like it or you don't, or am I wrong about that? I like it and, as you can see by the photos in this post, it can be incorporated in pretty much any style in a variety of ways.

The black and white graphic print adds an unexpected punch to these traditional pillows.

This lovely room has been all over blogland, so I thought I should join in! :-) The chevron pillow is a very simple addition to this room, but it just wouldn't be the same without it.

Here they've combined 4 colors in a chevron rug for a softer, but still colorful, look.

Country Home

You have to look close to see the chevron in this room, but it's the Pottery Barn chevron mirror on the wall.

If you're looking to add a little chevron to a space in your home, here are some options:

Zigzag Rug - West Elm
Island Chevron Rug (jute and sisal) 3 colors - Crate and Barrel
Twinkle Living 16" Cotton Pillow - Revival Home and Garden
Chevron Bath Towels - World Market
Twinkle Living ZigZag Pillow - Seafoam and White - Design Public

And for all of you who love a good DIY project!

You can make your chevron fabric by sewing it using this tutorial at instructables.com

Or paint your window treatments like Nuestra Vida Dulce did here.

Adventures in Dressmaking painted this zigzag rug.

Sunset magazine teaches you how to make the chevron pattern on this console table and includes a downloadable chevron pattern.

If you don't remember the chevron wall art from this DIY Art Ideas post, it's pretty cool so check it out!

Sabbe Interior Design made this chevron wall with contact paper! (found via Design Sponge)

Hope your day is going well, and that all of you who are snowbound are staying warm and cozy.
